In the 2000s, I have been a successful national champion for tomorrow's green jobs but there is so much further to go. In the 1990s, I successfully protected the livelihoods of thousands of residents of Chelsea and Fulham.

Liberal Democrats' fair policies could make a huge difference to local children, students, pensioners and anyone who ever needs public services like the NHS and police.

When I was a victim of violent crime in Fulham, the local Robbery Squad was superb. However, both the public and the police would be better off with the 3,000 extra officers Liberal Democrats plan than with Labour's expensive, 'Big Brother' and useless ID cards.

When I needed to use A&E at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, the over-worked doctor and nurses did their best. However, Chelsea and Fulham residents would be better off knowing exactly what to expect as individual people from the NHS than with Labour's wasteful bureaucracy.

And, as Nick Clegg has said, we need to press the re-start button on British politics to make our political system much cleaner, fairer and more democratic.

Only a strong Liberal Democrat performance at the General Election can deliver any hope of essential reforms such as these.

Chelsea and Fulham straddles two Conservative councils. Indeed, as of today, every single councillor in Chelsea and Fulham is Conservative. You may agree that some local competition might be better for local residents!

Recent elections across Chelsea and Fulham's two Boroughs clearly show that only Liberal Democrats can now effectively challenge local Conservatives.

Born locally, I have known Chelsea and Fulham well all my life and value its unique qualities.

I hope that, as Liberal Democrat policies and I become better known in Chelsea and Fulham over the coming weeks, you may see us as an effective, fair and forward looking solution to local and national problems.

Liberal Democrats have the most talented Front Bench team in Parliament.

Our policies (which have consistently stood the test of time) are the best on offer.

And we now have critical mass in terms of public support and as the only truly national Party.

Please believe you have the power to make Britain much better and fairer, with more stable and sustainable prosperity and jobs.
