David Cameron visits SPEAR in Hammersmith
Conservative Party Leader, David Cameron, joined Shaun Bailey in Hammersmith today, where he met with young people who have just graduated in a course run by local charity, SPEAR.
Based out of the St Paul's Centre on Macbeth Street, Hammersmith, SPEAR is a free interactive six week course that helps young people between the ages of 16 and 24 who can't work out what to do with their lives.
The course helps the young people to work out what they really want to do and how to get there, relevant work experience, a chance to achieve accredited qualifications in selling and customer services, personal coaching, building a great CV and improving interview skills.
Speaking after the meeting, Shaun said: "The work of SPEAR is fantastic in giving young people chances to shape their future and providing valuable experience that will lead to employment. We need to learn from SPEAR's work and do more of it across the country."
Conservatives are committed to getting Britain working and tackle Labour's jobs crisis, creating hundreds of thousands of new opportunities to help people move from unemployment back into work.
One programme proposed by the Conservatives - Youth Action for Work - will give young people the skills they need to get a sustainable job for the future. Over two years we will fund 200,000 apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeships, 100,000 work pairings and 100,000 further education college places.
